Dear dr. Schroeder,

Perhaps you remember our correspondence September 2010. You forwarded me a lot of information on MM and enfolded your plans for further work.

Today I studied your website. I’m impressed by the progress you have made. I will most certainly use the interesting stories.

Allow me to offer you some extra information about MMs family:

– Max’ father Levi Meyerfeld was born in Treysa 12-04-1844.

– Max’ brother was Emil, born Treysa 30-06-1870, died Jakoby Institut, Bendorf-Sayn 25-03-1908, married Jenny Lippman, born Aachen 13-03-1862, died Berlin 01-06-1925. They had a daughter Alice (Liss), married Hugo Stokvis, director of the Stokvis trade company in Rotterdam. You mention Alice remembering the piano song and Stokvis in note 1.

– Max’ grandparents Sussman Meyerfeld and Teltzchen lived in Treysa and had 10 children born in Treysa between 1834 and 1854. Levi was nr. 6.

– Max’ aunt Sara (Sarchen) was nr. 8, born Treysa 03-03-1850, died Frankfurt 1929, married Max Friedberger, born 1850.

– Your Hans / John Meyerfeld (1838-1907) is not in my list of Levi’s 10 children, therefore I’m curious about his details. According to MyHeritage a person with the same names en years has different parents: Sigmund and Theresa Meyerfeld, and would have been married Jenny Lippman, the wife of Emil.

– Max had an uncle Max (nr. 5), born Treysa 31-01-1842, died Aachen 10-03-1904, married Charlotte Weiler. Built a textile company with his sons Otto and Julius in Aachen.

Hopefully the above gives you some more clarity about the Max’ familyclan.

Kind regards,
Hugo von Meijenfeldt
