Dear Madam/Sir,

Excuse me for writing in English. Feel free to respond in Swedish.

My son Lester and I are travelling around in Sweden this week to find traces of our ancestors Meijerfeldt. Today we visited your beautiful Vittskövle church and the graveyard. The ‘handy-man’ allowed us in to have a look inside. We saw the impressive ceiling, the Barnekow choir and many more. I wrote a few lines in the guest book.

I have the following question. Christoffer Barnekow and Margaretha von Ascheberg are in the Barnekow choir. Their youngest daughter Brita Barnekow and her husband Johan August Meijerfeldt (our ancestor) are in the Meijerfeldt Gruft in Nehringen (Pommern). Their son Carl Friedrich Meijerfeldt died 29 April 1791 on his säteri Ugerup. According to the churhhbook of Köpinge he was carried to Visskövle and buried there 26 May 1791. One source even claims that grandson Johan August Meijerfeldt was buried in the Vittskövle Church on the same date.

I have not been able to find the burial(s) in your church book or thumb stones around your church. Could you help me out?

Thank you very nuch for the trouble taken,
Hugo von Meijenfeldt

Dear Sir,

I have been searching in our archives but I can´t find anything about your ancestors. Our oldest archives are delivered to Landsarkivet i Lund, maybe they can help you.

Med vänlig hälsning
