Dear Godwin,

Through my cousin Ingmar, son of Henk and Gerd, I got your e-mail address. I hope everything is well. I am anxious to finally write something to you.

It is a very very long time ago we met. I was a young boy visiting (together with my parents and brothers) your father-in-law Carl. Henk and Gerd lived next doors. Ann and you were visiting. As far as I know this was the only occasion we met.

After a long career in the Dutch government I now serve as the Consul General for the Netherlands in San Francisco, California. I live there together with my wife Saskia. My three children Laura, Lester and Celine are living in the Netherlands.

You have received a copy of my book about the family Von Meijenfeldt. There are a lot of details about the deceased and living members of the family. My information about Ann and you is very limited.

The birth names of Ann are Anna Catharina Jeanette, she was born in Alkmaar July 7, 1934, but I do not know where and when she died. I know she was a director of a primary school, but I do not know the name and place of the school. I can remember she had to commute a lot, but I don’t know where you lived (or perhaps still living). I know you got married in London July 26, 1969 and that your name is Godwin K. Hanson-Dzonu. I do not know what the “K” stands for, where and when you were born, what the names of your parents were and what profession you had or perhaps still have. My request to you is to fill me in.

It would be wonderful to meet with you one day. Perhaps you heard of my initiative to have a big family gathering in Amsterdam on 24 January 2015. I can understand that it is quite impossible for you to join. Ingmar and I would love to cross the North Sea one day when I’m back for a while, perhaps later in 2015 or 2016.

Best regards,
Hugo
