Dear Mr. von Meijenfeldt,

Please, excuse me for not having complied with your wish [CH-404] to send you a photograph of your Swedish ancestor General Meijerfeldt. I do feel very bad about it, but I am hereby attaching two photos, which were taken when last visiting my father. Unfortunately they are not very good ones, the flash is mirrored in the picture.

However, I will do my best to take a better photo during my next visit to Rosendal. As you can see the painting is rather large. I will measure it next time.

Best regards,
Margareta Lilliehöök

Dear Margareta Lilliehöök,

What a nice surprice in the new year to receive the two photographs from you today. Thank you very much for all the trouble taken.

There is no need to feel sorry for the time it took, because there is no big interest at stake. I’m just curious at the history of my family.

I am very delighted, because this painting is a new one for me. Apart from the size of the picture, I wonder if you or your father know in which year and by which painter it was made.

I took the best part out of the photograph and put it on my website. Do you mind if I write underneath it that the painting is in Rosendal and that the photograph is taken by you? I am asking this, because Mr. Barnekow asked for privacy when he e-mailed me the painting of the older painting of Meijerfeldt d.ä.

Of course a better photograph would be wonderful. There is no hurry at all. I still have the plan to travel to Sweden this summer, so I am wondering if your father would allow me to pay a short visit to the painting.

One last question: do you know if there are paintings of other Meijerfeldts in Rosendal, like his wife Brite Barnekow or his daughter Anna Catharina Horn born Meijerfeldt?

Thank you very much in advance,

kind regards,
Hugo von Meijenfeldt
