Dear Madam / Sir,
In your Picture Gallery I found a painting of the grandfather of my grandfather, count Johan August Meijerfeldt jr (1715-1800) under the number mentioned above (NM Grh 4271), painted 1792 by Per Krafft sr. I have three questions:
a)     Is there a possibility to obtain a digital copy with a higher resolution than on your website?
b)     Do I have permission to use your picture on my private website
www.meijenfeldt.nl?
c)      Do you have any other members of this family – including Sparre, Horn and Barnekow – in your collection?

Thanks in advance,
Hugo G. von Meijenfeldt

Dear Hugo von Meijenfeldt,

We only allow 72 dpi on the website, then you can use the image on our home site. If you would like to have a higher resolution, you have to sign a contract where it stands what you shall do with the image. Ordinary price are 1.000:- S.Kr. (ca. € 100) for a book. You can look at our home site and find the other members of your family.

Best regards, Eva Karlsson

Thank you very much Eva,

For my website I can indeed use the picture on “Our home site”. I will not use the higher resolution image on my website or in a book, but only in a
framed photo print with passé partout on a wall in my house, between other paintings of members of the Swedish Meijerfeldt family. Is it then still 1.000 S.Kr. or perhaps a little bit less? After your answer I’m ready to order and pay the price. Other members are not traceable on your website.

Kind regards, Hugo

Dear Eva,

Thank you very much for the trouble taken.

I was able to download the picture. But then I found out my computer is not that professional to be able to open “.tif”. I just haven’t got the software to do that. I’m afraid I’ll have to ask you one other favor. Is it possible to open up the picture for me in a “.gif” or “jpeg” format? I would be most grateful.

Thank you for the clarification of the payment procedure. I will pay promptly as soon as I have received the bill.

Thanks in advance again, Hugo

Dear Eva,

Great, that works immediately.
In the mean time my computer was more clever than I am. I re-opened the picture several times and just was obviously not patient enough, because I can open your “.tif” now as well. It looks great and I will have it printed and framed at local shops in San Francisco. But first I have to celebrate Labor Day over here on Monday, a kind of a 1 May we
know in Europe.

Thanks once again and I will wait for the invoice.

Kind regards,
Hugo

Dear Eva,

Thank you once again for the Photo. It’s hanging on the wall, framed with glass and passe-partout. I hope my payment has arrived already.

In your portrait gallery there is a kopparstick av Johan August Meijerfeldt d.Ä. It has been made around 1733 by Daniel Tilas. Your number is NMG 10 / 1884. Until now I did not pay too much attention to it, because the quality seemed very poor, but perhaps the quality you can offer me is much higher than on your website. Could you inform me about the quality and the price (for private use and alternatively for use on my website).

Thank you again in advance,
Hugo G. von Meijenfeldt

Dear Hugo Meijerfeldt,

For the moment can’t we take any better photo of this copper plate. The museum are evacuating the whole collection for renovating the building. We hope to  be open again  in 2017. But perhaps Our Royal Library can have this plate. Try kungl.biblioteket@kb.se

Best regards, Eva
