Dear Madam/Sir,

Excuse me for writing in English. You can respond in German.

My ancestor Graf Johan August von Meijerfeldt lived in Stralsund as gouvenor-general over Swedisch-Pommern. At least the following relevant events took place in the St Nikolai Kirche:

    • 20-05-1722: baptism of Anna Catharina Meyerfeldt, eheliche Tochter, 1722 Seite 204b, 5 Zeugen.
    • 05-05-1725: baptism of Graf Johan August Meijerfelt, eheliche Sohn, 1725 Seite 225b, 3 Zeugen.
    • 03-06-1725: death frau der Obristen von Meijerfeldt (21-06-1725 Beysetzung in Nehringen).

This information was partly in the Karteikartensystem im Stadtarchiv von Stralsund. I would like to see the exact documents with my own eyes. Since I understand you cannot open the original documents to visitors, I would like to order a photograph/photocopy/scan of the three pages in the church books. Is that possible?

I would like to thank you in advance for any trouble taken.

Kind regards,
Hugo von Meijenfeldt

Dear Simone Grimm Adam,

Thank you very much for the scan of the Karteikarten of the baptism of the daughter and son of the Swedish Governor-General von Meyerfeldt.

I must conclude I was not clear enough in my request. I was already in the possession of the four scans through FamilySearch (The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints).

My hope is that you have the original church books of St Nicolai. My request is to make a copy or scan of the relevant pages of the two relevant baptisms, and of the burial service for the wife of Obristen von Meijerfeldt on 3 June 1725.

Next Monday morning 22 August I am in Stralsund. If it is helpful I could pass by to explain my request further.

Mit freundliche Grüßen,
Hugo von Meijenfeldt

Lieber Frau Simone Grimm Adam (i.A),

Wonderful that you found the two originaliteit baptism documents and scanned them. They are extremely useful to me. Thank you very much.

I don’t want to be ungrateful, but I had a third and last request: the document with regard to the burial service for Frau Obristen von Meijenfeldt on 3 June 1725. If you can help me out here I would be very obliged.

Thank you in advance,
Hugo von Meijenfeldt

Lieber Frau Simone Adam (i.A.),

Almost a month ago a wrote an e-mail to you. I’m not sure it arrived correctly. In any way it looks a bit weird (see below). Sorry for that.

Let me thank you again for the two scans of the original baptism documents I was asking for.

I am still interested in the third document with regard to the burial service for Frau Obristen von Meijenfeldt on 3 June 1725, number or page 420.

If you cannot find or do not have the document please let me know. In that case I will not bother you again.

Best regards,
Hugo von Meijenfeldt

Dear Mrs. Simone Grimm Adam,

During last summer you helped me very much with documents regarding the governor-general in Swedish Pomerania Johan August graf von Meyerfeldt. You scanned the baptism pages of his children Anna Margaretha (1722) and Johan August (1725). I’m grateful for your efforts.

I requested also a scan of the Sterberegister 1725, Seite 420, containing Frau der Obristen von Meyerfeldt, Sterbetag 3. Juni 1725. The burial took place in the St. Andreas Kirche in Nehringen. If you cannot find the page at least I know.

I have another request. According to your Kirchenbuchkartei, Sterberegister 1728, Seite 497, another daughter of the governor-general died on 29 June 1728, 12 years old. She too was buried in the St. Andreas Kirche in Nehringen. I found in the National Archives in Stockholm that her first names are Ulrika Margaretha, that she was born in Tunnerstad 14 August 1719, and baptised in Visingsö 15 August 1719. At the moment she died she was therefore not 12 years old but less than 9 years. Could you scan this original page for me as well?

To help you find the right Kirchenbuch I included a copy of  all four two-sided cards in the Kirchenbuchkartei regarding the St. Nikolai Kirche.

Thank you in advance,
Hugo von Meijenfeldt
