I found our full correspondence in 2007. Together we brought a part of the jigsaw puzzle together. The city of the German origin of your ancestor is still unknown, although I found a clue that Mecklenburg has to be the region.
In my new job in San Francisco I witnessed the great Oracle race. In my economic diplomacy activities I have quite a few Oracle contacts in the Bay Area. In case you’re around, please come and visit the Dutch Consulate General.

Good to hear from you. I have done some digging since then, and found the records of when my Great-Great Grand Parents (and Great Grand Father at age 3) came from Germany to USA in early 1870s, and in it, they stated they were from Nuremberg.
My mother had never heard that, but given the city’s noteriety from being connected to the Nazis, I can see how that may have never been passed down
I don’t get to SF much. Actually up in Seattle right now – and here most weeks on a project. But if I do get there, will let you know
