Dear Margareta Lillieh\u00f6\u00f6k,<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Perhaps you may remember our telephone conversation and e-mail exchange in <\/span>2007 about two big paintings in Rosendal. You surprised me by sending pictures of <\/span>two big paintings of my ancestors. I put them on my website www.meijenfeldt.nl. <\/span><\/p>\n

Since your father was one year older than my mother, and I can see that you and your <\/span>three younger brothers now own the slott, I assume our parents died more or less in <\/span>the same year. I also see that the maintenance of Rosendal together with the <\/span>government did not work out as well as you and your brothers had in mind. That is <\/span>too pity for such a lovely castle.<\/span><\/p>\n

My question to you is if you can have better photos taken from the two painting and <\/span>perhaps other paintings of the Meijerfeldt or related Barnekow and Horn family. <\/span>Perhaps you could then also give me information about the sizes and the painter of <\/span>the pictures. <\/span><\/p>\n

Since I have been appointed as the Consul General for the Kingdom of<\/span>
\nthe Netherlands in San Francisco, California, I\u2019m afraid I see no opportunity to pay a <\/span>visit myself.<\/span><\/p>\n

Thank you for your e-mail below. I do remember our correspondence regarding the <\/span>painting at Rosendal and that I sent you some photos. There is only one painting of <\/span>Johan August Meijerfeldt, but maybe I sent you two pictures. I am planning to visit <\/span>Rosendal towards the end of October. I will then try to take some better photos of <\/span>the painting, \u00a0measure it and also try to find out who the painter is.<\/span><\/p>\n

Our father died in July last year at the age of 93. It was of course very sad, but he had <\/span>lived a long and satisfying life.<\/span><\/p>\n

Congratulations to your appointment as Consul General. I do hope you will enjoy <\/span>your stay in San Francisco.<\/span><\/p>\n
