Dear Mrs. Karina Kulbach-Fricke,

Excuse me for writing in the English language. Feel free to respond in German.

My name is Hugo von Meijenfeldt, living in the Netherlands. I am researching  the history of my family, coming from Livland, Sweden and Pommern, ending up in Amsterdam around 1800 (see www.meijenfeldt.nl in Dutch).

In 1674 the first Meijerfeldt was ennobled by the Swedish king Karl XI. Earlier his name was Meijer, he was an engineer and OberstLieutnant in the Swedish army and after 1660 Inspector over Oberpahlen in Livland. He married Margaretha Wulff, daughter of Riga’s mintmaster Martin Wulff and Ursula Marquard.

Two people helped me out in my research in the Wulff family: Victors Dābolinš (numismatologist in Riga and Tartu) and Michael Kohlhaas (Genealogischen Gesellschaft Hamburg, Verein für Familienforschung Lübeck). The latter mentioned your impressive CD Familienbuch Riga.

I am curious to find the dates of birth, marriage and death of Henric Meijer(feldt) and Catharina Wulff, and her two earlier husbands Herman Rötelsdorf and advocate Johann Christoff von Kirstein. I am also interested in the state of the family in 1710, when the Swedes had to leave the town and country to the Russians. Thirdly I would like to find more information about an ancestor of Henric Meijer(feldt) in a direct father-son-line: Johan Meijer, kastellan of the burg of the Teutonic Order in Riga 1510, married to Gertrud von Farensbach / Farsenbach.

My question to you is: do you think your CD could be of help to me and if yes, could I order I copy? I have read about your expectations with regard to a financial contribution.
Thank you in advance for any trouble taken,
Hugo von Meijenfeldt
